Shama
creates healing and meditative music at sound emersion
evenings with crystal and metal bowls, bells and chimes
as well as voice and keyboard. Shama is a member of Shemaya,
a Shamanic Sound Healing Troupe based in Portland, Oregon.
When she is in Oregon she participates with them in sound
healing events such as Solstice or Equinox celebrations
and group or individual sound healing sessions.
MUSICIAN
Shama
is a singer, song writer/composer and recording artist.
Shama?s music reflects the varied spiritual practices
she has studied and embraced, including Hinduism, Buddhism,
Sufism, Mystical Christianity and the Kabbalah. She has
studied with several sound shamans, including Frank Coppieters
and Tito La Rosa, as well as sound healers such as Chris
James. Shama views all these teachings and practices as
different facets of the diamond mind. Through any one
of them, we can see that all these differences are illusion,
and that in truth all is one. Sound is a path which can
guide us there. Shama performs her music at chanting and
sound emersion events, private concerts and churches or
organizations interested in healing or meditative music.
Jewel
in the Lotus
JEWEL IN THE LOTUS features traditional as well as composed
chants in diverse languages such as Sanskrit, Tibetan,
Hebrew, Arabic and Zulu. She weaves poetic English translations
into these sacred languages to allow the listener access
to the devotional message expressed by the words. Arrangements
include piano, keyboard, guitar, cello, harp, flute and
esraj, creating a healing and meditative mood. Learn

Calling You

AM CALLING YOU is a collaboration with Frank Coppieters.
In 2000 Frank began receiving inspired guidance during
his public meditations. This CD contains a sampling of
these prayerful messages coupled with thematically related
chants by Shama recorded live during chant evenings. Together
the words and melodies penetrate the heart and lift the

Music without words means leaving behind the mind. And leaving behind the mind is meditation.
Meditation returns you to the source. And the source of all is sound. — Kabir
